Information for students, prospective students, staff and the community on the University's response to COVID-19.


COVID helpline and email inbox: We have set up a COVID helpline for students and their families (tel +44 131 376 1748).  It is open from 1-3pm on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September. Weekday hours are to be confirmed.  We also have a dedicated inbox for COVID related enquiries:

While we understand that this is anxious time, please be reassured that the University is following guidance from Health Protection Scotland and the Scottish and UK governments, and that the campus is open.

The 20/21 academic year has begun (with a few exceptions which you can find at our applicant FAQs).  We are offering a mix of on-campus and online activity (commonly referred to as blended delivery). Library, catering, retail and other services are all operational.

When they are not delivering face to face teaching or services, staff are generally working from home, and contactable by email. See our updates for the current status. The You can do IT at home page contains  information and links to the key resources that students and staff may require to work remotely. 

We are following well-established procedures which allow us to prepare for and respond to any scenario in the optimum way. We are committed to supporting our communities in tackling the spread of the virus.We have been planning for this academic year and beyond through our COVID-19 Business Recovery Planning Group. The Recovery Group’s plans allow for flexibility, and are focused firmly on ensuring the quality of the student experience and the wellbeing of staff and students.
